Pushkar

A small lakeside settlement, Pushkar is revered as the only place on Planet Earth where Brahma, one of the triad Gods of Hindu Trinity, rests. The namesake lake dominating the landscape of this religious centre attributes its existence to the Creator God. Despite being known as a mystical pilgrimage hub, this town has much more than just temples to offer to tourists – from street-side shops to rooftop restaurants.

  1. Pushkar Lake

The sacred Pushkar Lake is believed to be the same site where the lotus flower fell, from the hands of Lord Brahma. This captivating lake has 52 bathing ghats and its holy water is believed to possess healing powers.

  2. Brahma Temple

The Brahma Temple in Pushkar is one of its kind in the world as it is the only shrine on earth devoted to the Creator God. Standing on a high plinth, this temple has a silver turtle facing the sanctum.

  3. Ramavaikunth Temple

Built in the 1920's, the Ramavaikunth Temple is the largest and most exquisitely designed temples of the region. It is notable for its South Indian architecture and beautifully sculpted images of over 361 Hindu deities.
